Editing and strategy are all about
narrowing in to get your work out.

Cut it Out.

Pencil in a complimentary chat to introduce me to your project and walk me through what exactly needs a buzz cut.

Most people struggle to figure out what deserves the sword and what earns the pen — and that’s something I’ve always been acutely adept at. I just see it: what should stay and what needs to go. I can kill my darlings, tighten the ropes and cross a B+ sentence out easily because a writer owes the reader the respect of crafted heft without unnecessary height.

Whether it’s a book, script, essay, column or blog,
I’m here to to help you pitch a tight fastball.

Hot Air.

A one-hour strategy session to get clear, get real and get going on a project, idea or dream that’s been stalling on the sidelines.

When you’ve done as many jobs as I have — copywriter, art director, producer, project manager, photographer, marketer, storyteller — you acquire a ton of interconnected and invaluable know-how, and a Hot Air session puts that to great use.

I live to noodle new ideas, build storytelling ramps and light campaign fuses while sharpening the systems, logistics and steps needed to actually make all of the above happen, so slide your project, idea or dream my way. And if you’re wondering, “Can it be about _______?” or “Can we talk about _______?” the answer is yes.

Don’t take my word for it.
Listen to the fans.

“You took all my jumbled ideas and turned them into a piece of art I'm genuinely excited to share with the world! I feel like you just gave me million dollar ad agency ideas! Truly, that was amazing.”

—Rachel Molenda

“We needed a nudge in the right direction rather than a full commitment to a business coach. With her insights, resource recommendations and wealth of knowledge, Dani provided that in spades in our HOT AIR session. We left with the clarity we needed to take our next steps, so if you're looking for some guidance, but don't quite know in what way, book a session.”

“Dani is the queen of clarity. I went into our session with a heck of a lot of “What if? What do I do? How do I do it?” She helped me literally sort my entire life out in this one call. ”

—Karly Murphy

Who You’re Working With

  • DANI KREEFT

About ten years ago, a good friend of mine’s Dad told me my gift was perspicacity, and it’s stuck with me ever since.

It’s the ability to assess and circumvent a situation or (in the case of an editor) a text or piece and pull the central theme, nugget or point right out of it — I see it very clearly very quickly. Perspicacity is probably the biggest contributor to my brief, punchy style of writing. If I can see the pearl at the bottom of the pool, why wouldn’t I just dive straight for it? I’m also pretty ruthless about killing what doesn’t need to be there, even if I love it. If it’s not in service, it’s not in service.

Trim the fat, as they say.

Have any questions?

Everyone’s projects, ideas and dreams are so specific to them, so it’s likely you have questions that are just as specific.

Fire away.
